It was picture day. My then four-year-old had been struggling to fit into standard sizing since he was a baby — clothes that fit his waist were too short, sleeves that reached his wrists were too tight through the chest, and nothing ever felt quite right. That afternoon, we tried on outfit after outfit, searching for something — anything — that would make him feel handsome and confident walking into school.

Then I saw it — that look on his face. Defeated. Sad. A four-year-old who should have been excited for picture day, quietly shrinking.

I did what every mother does — I smiled bigger, laughed it off, told him mommy had just grabbed the wrong sizes. But that night, after he was asleep, I sat down and searched for a baby and toddler clothing brand that was built for children like him. Children who are perfectly healthy, perfectly wonderful, and simply don’t fit the standard mold.

I found nothing. Not a single brand that led with inclusive sizing for babies and toddlers — that treated it as the point, not an afterthought. So I decided to build it myself.
